People are crazy, at times are strange. I am locked-in tight, I am out of range.
I used to care, but things have changed.

medical tourism..

What are you looking for exactly?

General information or Specific information?

I agree Medical tourism is set for a boom as expenses are less in India and i think the insurance companies will not find it a bad idea. But there is still a long way to go in some fields.

But if you are searching for specific information as in cost ratios, comparitive medical protocols followed, doctor-patient interaction, then i guess it will need some searching. :).

Hey reality ,

We do have infrastructure and facility , but the integration of resources to provide an entire package of medical tourism has not been yet developed in India.

We have various healthcare centres and chain hospitals working in isolation. To provide a total package of tourism , the

integration of Business- 2- business association with other industries like, hotel industry , aviation industry, pharmaceutical industry, Insurance Industry is call for the day . Also the association with Patients referral Physician or home hospital service is must.

So though the industry is booming and various new playing are entiring [ Ranbaxy landed in Healthcare industry with FORTIS hospitals ] .

Internet research is useless, its jus gives isolated articles from some random newpapers .they aint much help.

Im undertaking a research project on -

1. Intergation of communication and promotional channels for Medical tourism in Internation market.

2,. Study the possibility of b2b tie up with various industries for consolidated Tourism package.

So do lemme know ,if you know abt sum1 with whom I can talk or may be sum international journals with the related topics

I think Escorts in Delhi was thinking something on those lines. But again like you said its mostly individual hospitals doing it on their own.

I think the big market for Medical tourism is in the specific field of Cardiac surgeries as we have the requisite know-how and the resourses. We could be a leader in the region in that field.

I recently saw ads for a hospital in Singapore which were advertising for their cheaper medical facilites vis-a-vis the west and at the same kind of environment.

There is already competition brewing.:)
