How to find IP address and ISP name

hey guys, how do you find your IP address, name of ISP and other things related to your computer? thanks.

Hi archana, long time?

Reg. IP address, you can check it by right-clicking the 'Network Neighborhood' icon on your desktop, going into 'Properties' and examining the TCP/IP properties (check the tab 'IP Address'). This will give you the address if your PC has a static IP. If it's dynamically assigned, i'm not sure - i'll leave it to the geeks to answer it ;)

Not sure about the ISP too - but I have a suggestion. Visit the site

http://visualroute.visualware.com (looks like it requires a registration - for a listing of other such services, you can check http://www.traceroute.org) or a similar service, and do a 'trace route'. Looking at the last few hops of the trace will give an idea on who's your ISP.

Hey Archana...welcome back!

IP Address: For Win2000/XP etc - Right-click "Network Neighborhood" on desktop and select "Properties". In the window that opens, Right Click "Local Area Connection" and select "Properties" again. The dialog that opens would have an Item: "TCP/IP" . Select that and click the "Properties" button below it.

For WinNT/98 etc - Right clicking "Network Neighborhood" would bring the Dialog Box directly.

About "Other Things" i dont know what exactly u mean...but u may right click "My Computer" on desktop and select "Properties". The Dialog box that appears has lots of details about yr PC.

It shows everything I need, and is accurate.

Sorry for not replying to your mail on yahoo.. I was away on work (and vacation too) .. they stepped up the alerts here to orange, however nothing has happened yet.
