Do our Telugu TV channels have any social responsibility? Or

by Raveendra » Thu May 08, 2003 12:49 am

I just can’t understand the behavior of our TV channels. What they are up to? Just injecting the cinema intoxication into the blood of people?
What the hell is this “showing what happened in last 24 hrs in the film industry to the people very next day at 8:00 AM in the morning?”
I just can’t see it happening in any little responsible channels like Z TV , SONY TV.

Cinema is just part of life. Its not life. I feel like “If I have powers to control this movie madness, I will not allow this movie based programs in normal TV channels at all.”

When will I see more programs like ones conducted by our ‘Lok satta’s Jaya Prakash Narayan’, ‘Karan Thapar’ in our Telugu channels? Why there is are no program like
‘Bournvita Quiz Program’ in Telugu?

obviously they r out for business (you see money is every thing)... i can suggest you one thing - instead of complaining, just switch over to some 24 hr news channel... and when u get bored of news, switch over to a movie masala channel...

Coz many of the gults with a bit of talent want to go abroad, many from north India wouldnt want to go abroad.(ex: if u look into civil services, north Indians are more into it ) so, the talent pool in Andhra is less compared to the talent pool in north. Also, people are evenly distributed in all fields in the north. in Andhra everybody is an engineer/into software. maa vaadu computer andi !! i thought hes a homo sapien ;-) am wondering what will happen if Naidu implements his proposal of scrapping some non-engineering programs (coz engineering seats are falling vacant !!)

Do our Telugu TV channels have any social responsibility? Or are they just into business? This topic and your above statistics and comparision are totally unrelated!!! > This is my first point... And secondly, you say talent is directly proportional to the number of ppl getting thru civil services... Again I don\'t agree with u... THat\'s my second point!!!

Okay, I unnecessarily complicated it. In simple terms, in Andhra there are few people who want to do Art etc. So talented people don\'t go into these TV channels. Hence the programmes are like that. Also, we (general public) are easily carried away by the media\'s gossip stunts compared to other Indians, so these channels obviously cater to the mass public.
