Who will be the Next Champion

by Shahed » Tue Oct 01, 2002 6:25 pm

In recent series we have seen there is a drastic change in the teams performance , big giants are well left and shaky teams performed so well. Removing old and injecting new players , ground strategies and team\'s morale all this worthful to India...Wat wud you think who will lift the Next Cricket World Cup.

dear luici I dont like your statement. I never beleive Azharruddin was a selfish player. Infact he had been a hard hitter in one day matches raising the averages in the times of requirements.

Sri the democrat!! How could you utter the word Azharuddin again? Yes, he is a hard hitter, but also a hard getter under the table... but for him the previous World Cup would have been ours. You say Azhar was never selfish? What is wrong with you buddy? I am ashamed he is from Hyderabad. A true Hyderabadi would never do such a thing. What a disgrace!

See Neeraj, your statements are correct, but the dead South African player Hnsie Cronje left behind so many positive memories. Like that I am recollecting the greener moments of Azharuddin.

Thanks, Sri The Democrat. Yes, Cronje is dead, but Azhar is living dead. He asked for it. Though I do agree that he is a wonderful and very stylish batsman, and a very good fielder. I was a great fan of his.

I was and am still a fan of Azhar. He was made a scapegoat. There were bigger names involved in match fixing. They got away with it and since Azhar was already nearing his retirement, they decided to make a bakra of him. And in the last world cup, he single-handedly won us the match against Pakistan scoring the only 50 in the match and taking 3 stupendous catches. He also did some some superb captaincy to win us against England. We lost because of selfish players like Tendulkar, who just want to pile on record after record. DON\'T EVER call Azhar a selfish cricketer... he played his heart out... Yeah, I felt let down by his match-fixing antics, but then there were many others who were let off even when there was evidence against them...
