What do you think about the BCCI's new stand (or standoff) about the Champions trophy and FTP.
BCCI's position is that the Champions trophy is taking away resources and revenue from the board, while ICC says that this trophy is needed for the development of cricket throughout the world.
Mike Atherton's quote - India's behaviour toward the ICC conveyed an image of a country 'acting as superpowers tend to act: self-interest first and last and bugger the rest. Last week, Malcolm Speed, the chief-executive of the ICC, found himself in a position much occupied by Kofi Annan and the United Nations in recent years: being bullied by a superpower for whom the notions of international law and collective responsibility have long ceased to have any meaning.
And I completely agree with him, why have we become so arrogant when it comes to our interests and yet, at the same time, crib when others tend to ignore our interests. Double standards.
