Asians use more of Friendster. In fact, Orkut is a Friendster clone, and is not so popular.

Don't go on Friendster! Its great for some things and all but...

But, I am not sure how orkut works. It tells me that I am connected to over two and a half million people through a handful of friends. Are there even that many members of orkut or is that number along with the duplicates?

Orkut is verymuch similar to Yahoogroups in the sense that you have your very own community where you can exchange messages views and opinions with fellow members.Me too am a new member of orkut and was hoping to find more members here who can be of assistance to me but....seems only a handful are Orkut members.



In my short stint with Orkut i have seen that it indeed has a very Huge network of friends.And when it mentions that you are connected to some 2 million friends through a few friends,it isn't exaggerating.You have a friend who has some more friends who in turn have further more friends and this goes on & on.I have seen one or two Indian communities on Orkut and IMO the IITIIM,IIM & IIT communities are among the largset there are....

Have started the FullHyderabad Community out at Orkut. Was'nt so sure that we'd be requiring another Community,Now that FH is Quite Abuzz and Literally Full to the Brim,What with 42535 Registered Users
