No-body here actually likes Boy-bands or manufactured teen-idols. at the same time none of us actually despise them. some where in our lives,in some dark alley we could be found humming their tunes or imitating their style at the discos. But respect them?? aha...atlaest i wouldn\'t!! IN this context, Viva is certainly something different and certainly interesting.Frankly almost all of us who were aware that Channel V was launching a Popstars contest, secretly followed the travails of the final five. And much of the blame falls on the producers behind Channel V\'s babies. Knowingly or unkowingly, the makers have succesfully managed to change the attitude of the viewer from being critical to the whole routine to being symapthetic to these 5 babes. As we watch how these ordinary Indian girls toil, sweat, and cry through their training, we somewhat understand their pain and suffering. The episodes in which the gilrs cry when seperated from their folks, touches a chord amongst all of us. Not only do these singers acknowledge that they don\'t write or make their own songs, it\'s all shown to us on the show. Under normal circumstances such albums are recieved with a lot of critcism. Anyone noticed what happened to 5 guys called \"Band of Boys\". After so much of marketing, these guys never released their album,or have they???? But Viva is different.Ordinary people put in extra-ordinary situations. And a camera to follow them around!!!
