Mumbai express.
when i went to the movie i was expecting a wonderfully crafted film with loads of subtle humour like in " pushpak vimanam". but i have to say that i am disappointed.
the reasons are many... will try and give some of them.
> The film was intented to be an out and out comedy and it does live up to its comic potential at times. but many a time you do feel the lack of comic timing in the script. The dialogues seem very contrived and corny. some of the dialogues hit you in the face and make you curse the dubbing culture of making movies. The quality does improve in the second half but then it is more of a situational comedy in that half and it is funny most of the time.
> The other major draw back of the film is the casting. I simply hate the acting of kovai sarala. I can not understand how people can stand her "acting" if you can call what ever she does as "acting". Even the other characters are mostly tamilians and its a bit hard to get used to them, mannerism and looks and all.
Maneesha tires her best , but i think her role isnt very well scripted.
Kamal is , as ever, infalliable. he fits the role to the T.
The support cast is just that, support cast, never do they rise above mediocrity.
> The other major drawback of the movie is the look. It looks like a remastered 70's movie. doesnt look technically sound. The camerawork leaves a lot to be desired. some action sequences could well have been left out. they stand out like a "sore thumb" instead of highlight.
-- All in all , this movie doesnt leave you happy at the end of it. You feel you could have been better off watching the other option you had. and frankly if you dont have an other option and you have lots of time to kill, you can give this movie a once over , that too just for kamal hasan.
