Basically She was killed by the Catholic Church. Then why the same Catholic Church made her the Saint.
She was a brave girl. I agree. She was a great Military leader. I agree. But She made non sence statements that she was getting direct orders from Divine and God. Even with this type of nonsense, why Catholic Church gave her the Sainthood later?
I have a doubt that she was little bit Schizophreniac.
Everybody Please Clarify.
all i remember from what my catholic upbringing (thanks to the school nuns) said iis that Joan was a Martyr and thus for her beliefs made her a Saint later on.
She was not a great military leader - just an inspired one that was the turning point for her short career - she had one win in the long war of french against the english, she didnt make nonsensical statements, people just refused to believe in an age and time where they were losing battles and the army was dimishing rapidly...
according to the sainthood rules i know: anyone that was supressed for their beliefs and did a whole lotta good for christainity and spreading the word, gets a medal but its a very arduous process - people are still are petitioning for mother theresa for the big league.
btw: Jeanne d'Arc is her real name - tis french...
Jean is a guy name unless its American, then it can be a girls name, like "Barbara Jean" (pronounced like the clothing "jeans") and in francois, the Jean is jon)
