in theory i'm catholic. local boy is going to drag me to church tomorrow.

he's armed with:

2 sentences of English ("where is you", and "compulsary", the latter usually refering to going to mass with him)

My phone number

the exact location of my flat





so looks like unless i manage to sleep through him trying to knock my door down again (he did this last sunday too) i may have to reenter a church after a long absense.



anyhow, i was talking to a (hindu) mate of mine who said he reckoned the Indian christians haven't really got much of a notion whats going on around easter.



i take all of this with a pinch of salt, however what's your feelings on it?

My Karate instructor (and best friend) is a RC. Sos my neighbours and their neighbours and a lot of people.



I have been to church quite a lot of times with Emmanuel sir and he seems to be very well versed with Christian history and other stuff.



I think that Christians are quite nicely informed about their religion. Maybe it is due to the fact that there be a lot of Chrisians and BEAUTIFUL Churches in Nagpur...

We are protestants. My dad is a regular curch goer, rest of us attend on Christmas, Easter + few other times. Mum's always said it is more imp to lead a christians' life rather than attend church etc aaaaaawwwww I do find a lot of regulars just doing it for show - minus my dad ofcourse!

I'm a Christian and I miss all the sunrise services in Hyderabad-Secunderabad. Here, all churches have regular 10am/11am services on Easter Sunday, doesn't seem any different from the regular Sunday services!



I'm in a friend's family party right now, and it looks like they have everything - Easter egg hunt, food, etc, it looks like a regular party - without the true Easter bit!

Forget about taking it with a pinch of salt; you can take it with a barrel of salt!

Your friend is very misinformed about that. Most of my Christian friends in Hyderabad and other parts of India are quite aware of the real significance of Easter. Its only in the west that when you mention Easter, people think about easter eggs and the easter bunny, both which have *zero* significance to Easter, just like what Santa Claus is to Christmas.

I meant non-christians are not aware. Ofcourse christians do know what's happening! But easter eggs and the like are not popular.

a Holiday for us.Most of the Sisters at School were Nuns and Even now I don't

know whether they were RC's or Protestants.

We used to have mass at School chapel and The true story of Good Friday

an Easter would be tols to us.I still remember that Good Friday is abt

Crucification and Easter is about Resurrection.
