today at breakfast, was watching Kerry's speech at the Democrats Convention....
one thing struck me......just transalate his speech in Hindi, substitute references to US with those of India...and Hey Presto....it cud be Laloo's or Vajpayee's speech!
Politicians are the same everywhere....
....same lofty but hollow claims and promises....even if Kerry wins i think he wud be like any other politician here when it comes to implementing all the grand stuff he states (remember Bush Sr's "Read My Lips: No More Taxes" quote?).One thing that was nice to see was the large number of south asians and muslims in the crowd of democrats....just like token minorities are "assembled" for political rallies here...
only difference i feel is that the democrats wudnt be distributing Biryani and curd rice packets to the crowd for dinner followed by cheap liquor and a ride home.
