I think the worst religious structures are in Ameerpet and Basheerbagh. But atleast Basheerbagh's one is not a problem, the one in Ameerpet is HORRIBLE.From 6 in the evening to 10 in the night, one cannot use that road.Auto guys keeps cutting in front of us,then those visitors to the temple, hawkers by the road. Its just horrible.

Lets go one more step ahead.

Yeah I agree that the worst of the traffic jams take place at Ameerpet X roads and its all because of temples at the cross roads. Road widening is not going to help unless these bottlenecks are shifted. I have in fact appealed lot of times to the then TDP govt. but the officials were just giving replies like "We will see, we will try etc." but didnt take any solid decision on this. Hope the new Rajasekhar Reddy govt will take a bold as--I believe---the opposition will not come in the way (the opposition is TDP). In fact I am sure the opposition will also offer its support in this regard. But we all need to come together and form a group and try to pursue the govt as well as major opposition parties/leaders. I am sure we will b successful in our quest for better roads.

Dear Ramesh, Hats off to your sincere approach to this subject of shifting the structures from our roads. Alas ! Civilizations take ages to change... Lets wait for the doomsday or the Icebergs to melt and drown everything and then we can build good unobstructed roads again. For the time-being lets keep driving, riding, walking or even crawling on our roads to reach our final destinations.

When are we going to take the first step.

by Ramesh » Sat Mar 26, 2005 8:45 pm

Hi guys,

We have been discussing about this problem for over 2 yrs. But no tangible progress. Lets write letter to the CM to do something. Otherwise, there wont be any use in case of road widening. Traffic jams like those in Ameerpet will create lots of problems........time wastage, pollution, and lot of irritation. Lets do something. Take inspiration from Bombay. How neat the roads have become after the religious structures have been shifted. Around 900 structures(temples, mosques, churches, graveyards etc) have been shifted. Don't v need good roads?

All religious structures need to be removed irrespective of religion. All the Hyderabadis need to understand the need and cooperate. More flyovers are needed for the city for which these structures need to be shifted.
