Speaking of sundaes and such........I made a wannabe sundae yesterday, without any ice-cream. Dont want all those calories, so what I did was slice strawberries and macerated it in 'Splenda' (sugar substitute) for 30 mins. Then I layered whipped cream and the macerated and deliciously sweet berries in the glass. Its looked amazing and tasted great!

Even I've found the service at Ohri's Basheerbagh to be much better. Visited Far East once, and it was a let down as far as service was concerned. The quality of food too, was a notch or two below Ming's court.

Have been to Gufaa quite a few times and have come out with nothing but good views about the service as well as the quality of food.

Have been to Havmor only once; at the Banjara outlet and had a ball of a time there inspite of the service being at its worst. But then, that could have been attributed to the tremendous rush because of new year's eve. The sundaes and the mood were more than enough to compensate for whatever was available in the name of service.

Talking of icecreams, chilli, ginger, garlic and saunf have been common flavours in Gujarat since a long time. It was also the first place to serve fried icecream in India. All said and done, I miss the icecreams in Gujjuland. Much better than the stuff we get here and way cheaper.

I've found Hyderabad to be wanting when it comes to authentic oriental food. All you get here is some indianised versions of recipes flicked off the net.

I know the originals are disgusting...but the ones flicked off the net are worse. We could have atleast bargained for indianised versions of the originals.

Oh No... not Ohri's!

I also did not have a good experience there. Though they do have a very high profile and back it up with good quality :thums up:.

Good quality? Of what?

Each time I went to Ohri's I had a problem... an no Hyderabadi is willing to listen. Ohri's to most people is above all this.

The service is sad... the food is just about average and... I even got a piece of steel wool in my food at Tadka.

The service is totally pathetic... we were asked to move to another table after we had started eating... this so they could accommodate another party!!!

And they serve complete apologies of western food! Heaven help them.

Food mein steel wool aata hai...

They make continental dishes by grinding left over Indian dishes into pastes... give me a break... there are so many places in Hyd for good food... Ohri's isn't one of them
