Mana hyderabadi's ki 'traffic sense ledu'. (kshana kshanam ishtyle mein bahi), so what? since I am away from hyd. I feel nostalgic about our hyderabadis' not having traffic sense too. Sorry guys, those of you who had been complaining.. but I love the auto drivers and cyclists and everything about hyderabad.. he..he..he

Hyderabadi resprct for police guys

by Akhilis2cool » Sat Apr 03, 2004 2:54 pm

This happened last year.

I was taking a turn for banjara hills at punjaguta cross roads where an enthusiastic traffic constable asked me to help him chase a person (in a santro) for breaking the red signal. So we together went chasing this fellow till southern spice where we were able to over take him finally. I thought he person driving the car, who looked very educated and in his late thirtees, would get down and finish the formalities of paying fine. but to my shock the person just looked at the cop, gestured at him as if he were his servant and sped off. the helpless cop noted the number of the vehicle and walked away.

If we dont respect the police guys who will? especially after it was our mistake.

Following Traffic Rules..

by Inspi » Sat Apr 03, 2004 9:08 pm

4well Hyderabadis are a way ahead of other Metors cities like Chennai and Bangalore..first of all we have few one ways and also people dont follow rules they say "Rules are meant to be broken"..well thats true..and added to that traffic policemen can be handled easily just 10 to 20 bucks u can get on to speeding 60 again even if u dont have a licence and other documents well but the police in other cities is too strict..they slap heavy fines against u,but thats not the case in Hyderabad..so If people are fined they would listen..but its the basic knowledge people need to have that they should follow rules or rather I would say common sence..Its just in the hands of people no government no police no one can change it.

the biggest problem is, dude, the drivers/riders on the roads havent had ne professional training b4 gettin their licenses.. So, not only are they unaware of road-sense .. they dont even know the rules!! IMHO, there should b a better system of issuing licenses.. imparting rules and harsh fines will also help..

traffic sense

by akhilis2cool » Mon Apr 05, 2004 8:18 pm

i think the fines r too high,

thats why people try to evade them by bribing the police.

they should be reduced to such a level that people would not mind paying it for the first time.....but if they caught making offences again and again...they will think twice before repeating the mistakes later......as u know even if the amount is less no one is too happy to keep paying it.

this will also reduced bribery.

another method of fining could be on the basis of the persons lifestyle......fine the rich people more than the not so rich.......but then how will we stop bribery?

its a moral issue. and a whole lot of strings are attached.

Why do we always have traffic jams on the road opp to HPS/at the Panjagutta traffic signal ? Sick of it, since thats an everyday route.
Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you are right.

Where ever there is a School or a Cinema hall next to the road, traffic jams r a regular feature.

In case of HPS begumpet the narrowness of the road doubles the problem + the begumpet flyover is a norrow one as compared to others and u cannot avoid it if u want to go to begumpet like u can in other places like basheer bagh or narayan guda.

I hope they widen the road soon. Mera bhi roz ka rasta hai :D

Auto Accident on NH!

by Happy Hyderabadi » Mon Apr 12, 2004 11:44 am

azazel wrote:i HATE auto-wallas :!:

Only Last Evening I saw this Auto Accident happen on the Dilsukhnagar Highway... The fellow was to the Left and applied Sudden Break. It suddenly turned Right and fell on its Right Side with the Driver trapped on the Ground. The Passengers somehow got out from the Top ("Left") and helped to upright the Auto ... The Driver still unable to get up, dazed and perhaps hurt! Luckily no major injury or damage but it hurt the Autowallah himself ... Besides the instable design of the Auto adds to its risk in an Accident.

I agree that the design indeed is very pooor. they cant look whose behind until they take a turn, till then most of the times it is too late!!

Most of them are mentally unstable I guess, or may be some sort of inferiority complex. Every day when I am coming to my office I encounter at least one auto going slowly right in front of me and blocking the road. When they finally give me way and i ask the "tehelne ko nikle ho kya?" they just give a brazen look on there faces!!! no reply. what do v conclude?

I have also observed that the day they r on strikes the roads are peaceful and there is a significant dicrease in pollution since many of them use kerosene instead of petrol.

aah, if not for the immense problems it would cause the daily commuters.. i'd pray that each day is a strike by the auto-drivers..

kerosene mixed with petrol, dude..agar kerosene pe hi chalta to kya tha!

my bro's pal's dad is an ex-Col. of the Indian army, remember his jeep had a huge bull-bar which he used quite often to smash autos in his way   ..fortunately for the auto-wallas, he's now in the U.K
