New Zealand is going all out to attract IT talent from India and are keen to offer Permanent Residency (Green Card equivalent) to those who qualify. What they are essentially looking for is...



- Age group - 25 to 39

- Qualification - Bachelors or Masters in IT/Computer Sciences from a reputed university

- Experience - anywhere from 2+ years

- Marital status - preferably married to a graduate or post grad. Kids are ok.

- Good health of all family members and no criminal record.

- Excellent English skills is mandatory.



A permanent resident gets benefits like free health, education (for self and children) and a host of other things like accident compensation, housing allowances, etc. Citizenship follows in 3 years. Owning a home can also be a reality in as little as a couple of years. The low levels of crime, population, corruption and pollution; the beauty of the land; a non-racial and secure atmosphere are other things to consider.



One area of concern expressed by some of my clients is how does one get a job in NZ after getting the PR? I perceived an opportunity in this and set up a consulting firm in Auckland. This company is responsible for placing all IT background clients who migrate through us. We have already placed about half a dozen guys in the NZ IT industry and the demand is growing day by day.
