Well.. let me add another way of finding a good house.
Talk to the Postman! Since he visits all localities. he will have more info about houses. I did this the last time I was looking for a house in US. It paid off..
Postmans everywhere are the same. They know every little nook and cranny in a locality.

There are a couple of single room flats going off for 4K on road no. 10, Banjara Hills. 2 Bedroom would be in the range of 5-6K minimum. Check out the classified section in FH. it has quite a few entries on real estate rentals.
