Mensa Hyderabad - kickoff

Mensa - the international HighIQ scciety is comin to our very own Hyd - soon !





With the first ever mensa test scheduled to be conducted over the second week of April 2004, Hyderabad is all set to join Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune as an Indian city with a local mensa chapter.



This post is for a couple of reasons -



1. Please check out http://mensahyd.sphosting.com for further details ( pardon the popups pls )



2. We need a place to conduct the Mensa test on 9/10/11 April. Would any of you know where we could find a place to do so ? We were thinking more on the lines of schools or colleges who could offer their premises for the same over the long weekend. Any help and/or advice on this would be appreciated !

Whoa ! ok .. finally we have a final final date for the Mensa test in Hyderabad.



July 10th and 11th. We plan to start registering people for the test from May 1st. Watch out this thread for further updates. Hope to see a bunch of fullhydies there . after all .. u are the smartest ppl in hyd, arent u ?

Hey CtrlAltDel, you a Mensa member too ? If so, would you like to help ingetting this thing off the ground ? We sure need more mensans chipping in !





About what you could do after you get into Mensa, its completely based on the local chapter, with the common denominator being, a chance to flex ur mental muscles. there is usually a monthly meet with a bunch of stuff thrown in - games/puzzles/discussions/debates/presentations. there are also special interest groups ( SIGs ) on topics as diverse as egyptiology to satan worship. trekking and outdoors SIGs are very common in most chapters and they organize treks for interested mensans. i wud say its like the fullhyd community here .. with diverse interests .. but real life interaction thrown in



and dont forget, its a nice thing to write on ur resume ! and it sure helps when u are travelling, and u look up a mensan in the place u are going to, and give him/her a buzz
