Hi people, me back from an awesomely fun meet.



I ended up at Eat Street at 7.20 (i think) and called up BW to find out where everyone was sitting. There was BW, CAD, Jasz, IMFB, Sharjeel, Lucifer, Betty, labelle, Akhil bhai and the surprise guest - San, already there. We chatted for a while and then BW, IMFB and Jasz had to go attend some "party". We continued chatting after which we decided to have dinner. We moved to Sardargee. Betty & Lucifer had to go so they took leave of us and went away (I am unsure about the last sentence being grammatically correct.) Anyway, we had a sumptuous dinner at Sardargee while watching KBC and then Sharjeel and Akhil bhai went on their bikes and CAD dropped the rest of us.



Special note here, labelle is always laughing. Had a gr8 time talking to her.

This being the first meet that I attended, I thought I should post my thoughts here.



First, the images I had conjured up in my mind of what the people behind those avatars would look like were completely shattered. I had always thought San would be like a six feet tall no-nonsense woman, CAD would be a dark and lanky quintessential illad looking character, Sherry would be an unkempt guy, BW would be a well-built scary looking Slash-haired thing on two legs, Betty would be a a zulfon-waali haseena which is not to say she isn't (now, don't come running after me for this remark), La Belle would strut around in pencil heels wearing low-rise jeans, or that Rock would be the way he appeared to be.



The initial shock overcome, the meet was quite fun. The mosquitoes did their bit too by providing the garnish to our food. We should probably plan for one that a full-strength DB can make it to. May be in a place like Cafe Mocha.

Meet was great fun.



Cad & I arrived about 6pm ish. Akhil was waiting at the entrance. Having met him once before I recognised him & duly congratulated him on his recent wedding. Lekin uski biwi bhag gayi so we caught him looking gloomy from time to time. Luci had called to say he was already at the venue. I took upon the challenge of identifying the devil which was fun. And when this seedha sadha looking bloke walked past I called out and it was him! Then joined Betty. I was looking forward to meeting her. Somehow I had the feeling we'd get on well. She is such a lively person that anyone would get on with her! LaBelle was next to come, so lively n chatty and she's so cute Cad treated us to coffee. We were then joined by the 3 guys Jasz, IMFB & BW. I was not so sure about them but like the rest they turned out real nice (as if i'm describing a cake coming out of an oven). Us 3 girls took a walk and returned with some munchies & drinks. Sherry had arrived followed by Rocky. Sherry as expected was sweet (he brought some sweeties for my little girl ) Rocky was cool and not an annoying brat as I expected.



About 8:30ish we waved bye to Luci & Betty & headed to Sardargee for some yummy food. After dinner, dropped LaBelle off & were stuck in traffic for good 40mins. With tourist buses on all four sides, it's no less than a miracle that we got out unscathed. We (Cad really) dropped Rocky off and by the time I was dropped off it was mid-night. Thanks Cad for coming so out of your way!

well...the meet went exactly a sdescribed above. this time the new persons i met were Lucifer (finally!) and Labelle! Lucifer looks too decent n seeda saada to deserve that name...but looks can be deceptive....what say Luci??? he hardly spoke much and sat there smiling...until someone started talking abt Mithun n Govinda..! that fired him up n he came across as a die hard fan of both!



Labelle is a gr8 girl.....never stops laffing n giggling....! in this meet, Labelle n Betty seemed to laff the louest n have the max fun and for a change the guys (esp I) took time to match their enthu!



the somewhat downer in the evening was in the never ending traffic jam at ameerpet nr maitrivanam...it was scary, with my car enclosed on all four sides by huge noisy volvo busses...at one instance the bus in front of me started reversing slightly while the bus behind me was coming ahead.....brrrrrrr..



after dropping off san, i reached home near to 1am and found my 2 yr old playing energetically while my drowsy wife was fighting sleep to keep an eye on him.

My teenage daughter came to me one day and announced that something terrible had happened to her four-year-old sister. She told me how she and her little sister were playing "pretend," and her sister decided to switch games: "I'm going to be the inside of a computer," the younger one announced, grabbing a pillow to be the keyboard and enlisting a sneaker as the mouse. "You can draw with me. I can play music to you. You can talk to me. Just click."

I assured my older daughter there was nothing wrong. Rather than a warning sign of a lost childhood dehumanized by technology, her sister's game was an utterly natural scenario for imaginative play; as regular as playing house or school. What struck me was how my older daughter didn't understand what the four-year-old saw instinctively—that the computer was something to play with, create with, express yourself with. I realized that my four-year-old belonged to a different generation. She was truly a kid of the digital age—a "Clickerati" ***** kid. ...
