another small detail is that u have to be in hydbad...or where ever the meet is held!hey guys! as Sherry said, the meet was gr8 fun and a sure success, like the last one at the same venue!
i was the first one at the place just b4 7 and was soon joined by Akhil. both of us just hung around 'bird watching'
for sometime. i called BW and took Lizard King's number, so that i may catch him when he arrives (never met him b4). When akhil and i were having coffee, HP joined us and very soon the guest of honor Chipkali Raja strolled in. thankfully HP met him b4 and was able to spot him. i was half expecting a geek wearing glasses, and i was wrong then sharjeel materialized out of nowhere by our side and this time akhil was the one who spotted him (or was it the other way round). believe me...he is as friendly as he appears in his posts! nice to meet u sherry!
the Project Manager of this Meet, Kavitha was the next to walk in and there was another round of intros with Lizard and Sherry. when we were standing n wondering what to do, i got a call in my mobile that got cut. when i dialed the number, it was Betty and there she was walking towards me with speaking into her phone...right from the time she gave a big "hi" i knew she was one gregarious extrovert who is a great company for sure!
soon after her, BW came in sporting a new beard! all of us collected our coffees and found a seat in a far corner near the railings....
there was a mandatory "what-do-u-do" round and everyone got to know each other: who are working, who are students, who are hyderabadies, who are married, who are in IT, who had AIDS, who had a police record...ok...joking abt the last two...but u get the idea i suppose!
eating time at Eat Street! some of us went to order whatever we wanted to eat and got back....Kavitha, yr treat on yr promotion is still pending! guys, she's now a Team Lead in her company...see how far this DB takes u in life...
the talk that followed was amazing and puntuated with loud laffter that made the ppl around give us strange glances! we talked of almost everything under the sun, esp weird things we had done in life....that talk, initiated by Kavitha was a riot!
when the topic switched to movies, Betty turned out to be THE movie buff...she is an expert on telugu films/film stars, tho she doesnt understand a word of telugu and has never seen a telugu film in her life...
finally at nearly 9, Lizard King was the first to leave, followed by Kavitha. the rest of us planned to eat out, but Sharjeel and BW excused themselves...they had to rush home. that left HP, Betty, akhil and I to dine together. we decided on the 4-Seasons restaurant at Tolichowki.
HP and Akhil rode their two wheelers to banjara hills to park it in a safe spot. Betty and I followed in my car and after the 2 parked their two-wheelers, they piled into my car and we drove to 4-Seasons (first time for me!). had a great Lebanese dinner of roti, kababs and Lebanese salad platter! the food and the conversation was gr8!
after dinner, we drove back to banjara hills and had ice creams from a bandi...Betty's treat!
from there,at around 11, HP and Akhil went their ways on their vehicles and I dropped Betty home.I came back to my place at abt 11:45 and crashed....thats it!
abt pics, HP clicked a few , but we have to wait till he finishes the filmroll and develops it...
. All fellow FHites, please attend the meets if you can. They're great fun.
