Damn!!! I wont be here to take the test *curses under her breath*

and i took that Mensa workout... and according to that i wud have a very good shot at becoming a mensan.....

Man my first shot at being the member of a club and its out the window!!

unless clubs like Gross Food Talk (courtesy Shout It Out with ar) and Serial Killers Inc (courtesy Az Man) count?? :lol:

On behalf of Mensa India, we are glad to announce

the launch of Mensa Hyderabad.

ABOUT MENSA: Mensa is an organization of people with

IQ in the top 2% of the population. Founded in 1946,

it has grown to have a presence in a 100 countries

and with 100,000 members worldwide. Members come

from all walks of life - students, business

professional, i-bankers, lawyers, doctors,

academics, software engineers etc

WHAT's IN IT FOR ME?: Besides the obvious advantages

of networking with intelligent people and having it

on your resume, being a mensan means finding people

of your calibre who share your interests! This is

through the Special Interest Groups (SIGs). For

those who travel, our SIGHT program offers help in

finding local mensans to help you out! mensa isnt

always about intellectual activities. Sure, we do

have debates, quizzes and puzzles - but we also have

outdoor activities, hiking, bowling, beer guzzling (

) etc. The

whole range of events that mensa offers makes it

truly one of a kind.

ACTIVITIES: We have a whole gamut of activities

ranging from the very intellectual to the totally

outdoor - in one word - FUN! To illustrate, the

events calendar of mensa Mumbai for 2004 includes

the following activities: Lateral thinking workshop,

origami workshop, Paragliding, Trekking in the

night, Visit to an INS submarine, Robotics and AI

workshop, Journalism workshop etc

HOW DO I GET IN?: To become a mensan, you need to

qualify through a written test. You are tested on

your reasoning and analytical skills. This is not

the GRE/GMAT/CAT and we do not test your verbal or quantitative

abilities.

TEST DETAILS: The test is of 2 hrs duration and will

be conducted on 10, 11 July 2004 at Hyderabad. There

are 3 batches each day and you can choose a batch

convenient to you. The test fees is Rs. 200/- only.

APPLICATION FORMS: You need to print the application

form and the test slot preference form from

http://mensahyd.sphosting.com/downloads/testappl.zip,

fill it up, and get it to one of us . If there are a

bunch of you interested from a specific institution,

or as a group of friends, we can come and collect

the stuff from you. Note that, you can submit the app form even if you

do not have a passport photograph with you right now, provided you get the snap with you when you come down for the test.

DEADLINE: We will close taking registrations as soon

as we hit the 300 mark, so hurry ! Also, feel free

Ppl,

We need help in finalising a venue for the mensa test. Ideally we are looking at some edu insti renting out one of their rooms (to accomodate 50) for the 2 days. We are willing to pay if necessary, but within limits.

We need just one room. Can anyone suggest names of colleges/schools in and aroudn the central areas of Hyd? If somebody has contact nos, that would also be very helpful. Thanks!
