the slaughter does look pretty inhuman. And there are a lot of people who cannot digest these things (Me include), but i jes ignore it.

But that holds true for chickens too, don't it. I have been to chicken stores 100s of times and I cannot digest it when they cut the chicken. But you just have to live with it.

yes...if i see a chicken being killed i am sure i'll stop eating it. its not something i have to live with coz i come from a veggie background and can live very happily on veggie food alone.

as it is, i enjoy non-veg only if i am in the mood and in company of other non-veg eaters. one down side of turning veggie for me is that i wud miss fish curry....:P
wtf? i no longer care if my posts hurt yr feelings

maybe the meat is of better quality this way...but painless....i dunno...remember that the animal is conscious and slowly bleeding to death....not exactly a painless state :)

This is from the internet:

At the University of Hanover, Germany Professor Schultz and Dr. Hazim used Electroencephalograph (EEG) and electrocardiogram (ECG) to compare the pain caused by Islamic slaughter and western method using captive bolt stunning. According to both scientists the Halaal method caused no change in the graph of the EEG the first 3 minutes after cutting the throat of the animal according to Islamic ritual. The next tree minutes showed a condition of deep sleep, followed by a zero level. The heart was still pumping and convulsion of the animal due to a reflex of the spinal cord driving maximum quantity of blood out of the body.
Islamic slaughter was therefore classified as humane and hygienic method.

Western method by captive bolting stunning showed in the graph of the EEG signs of severe pain. The heart stopped beating retaining much blood in the body.

The western method was therefore classified by the authors as unhumane and unhygienic for the consumer because of increased amount of blood being retained in meat.

I know, it sure does sound painful. I wonder why PETA hasnt stepped in and tried to change their method of slaughter.

PETA promotes vegetarianism...so i dont see them promoting any 'humane' killing of animals...

Yeah, I remember seeing that on the news! I was extremely disgusted and furious. I quit going to KFC for a while after that....infact I havent been there since. Im a patron of Bojangles now. Their chicken is pretty good too, sans the 11 secret herbs and spices that KFC is famous for. Chicken is chicken-----finger licking good.

I had KFC chicken only once... in Kansas more than 2 years ago.. and it was not worth it.. I don't understand why the local farmers in Bangalore had to protest against the opening of a local KFC five years ago.. it would have anyway died a natural painless death.. most of the people who tried out KFC did not like their chicken 8) this has nothing to do with halal or non-halal though.

dude, dont believe what they say, if i were u i would try it out. And for sure they have the best burgers in town. No doubt about it. And the fried chicken, would nt be called fried chicken if it were nt to be fried and had a bit of oil in it. And about it being bland, try the spicy chicken. Well, when u compare it to the Indian cusine, it would nt be as spicy. well, its not like only spicy food is the best food.

not suitable for anyone with tastebuds, Indian or otherwise. i don't think this chain does well outside US, none of my friends from Uk or Ireland eat there

for fast food, its very good. As compared to McD or hungry Jacks(burger King) acknowledging the fact that i dont eat steak.

Otherwise, there is not much authentic to Aussie cusine, other than meat pies and roast meat.
