If you live in the US, why don't you buy one from CircuitCity? You can get decent ones in the range of $600 to $800.

True, laptops are cheaper in US than in India. Prefer online to in-store buy.

Do you have any specific preference for branded laptops? If not, you can get some stuff much cheaper out here. You can try out the local markets and you should land a good deal.

UK or for that matter entire Europe has higher cost of living, especially electronics segment is pricey. PS3 for example is going be made available @ 800USD in Europe when the same thing is marked at 600 in US. If your flight is routing through Hongkong/ Singapore you might consider buying one in transit.

I suppose the reason for high orices especially in england is with VAT tax. Its costing as high as 17.5 % for a laptop costing 800 the tax is abot 180 pound. Thats the real deciding factor. By the way sonce i dont have connecting flight through eastern countries I dont have any options of honk kong.

but will u please look into the link whihc i gave on these to check whether the thing is good for its price mind it its a free delivery and discount of 2000

please thank u

Sure the laptop is good for its price. Given that you dont have a choice to buy in other countries, its the best deal. If the warranty still applies when you take it to UK, go for it. True, UK is screwed with those ridiculous sales taxes.

by indiabo » Tue May 30, 2006 3:02 pm

Hi,

this is my first post on this hyd visit. Its hot man too hot. and the other thing is that of traffic its zoomed. Too much of traffic dude cant assume its proportion of increase.

by the way my journey one of the smoothest no hassles with customs\ officers. everything was smooth though i carried 50 kg of weight huhhhhhhhhhh.

Wat else its hot hot. but i suppose the hottest topic of discussion was about helmet rule. My taxi driver was furious and showed so much example of people not following it.

next i am gonna have 18 hour sleep of rest then more , bye bye

The prices have shoot up just because everyone is earning huge money. Hyderabad is over priced now. Unless government builds a strong infrastruture, whatever development we have seen so far can vanish easily.
