Looking for good friends

by VJ » Fri May 05, 2006 11:48 pm

This Hyd totally SUCKS! The people are not open minded and I get a feeling as if there are a lot of restrictions in everything. Other than the food it has nothing like cosmopolitan culture. Iam sorry! But this is my experience! others might have a differnet experience. Iam looking myself to shift to another city which truly has everything in it. If anyone interested in making friends get back to me on this thread.

VJ, its sad that you haven't exactly got a good opinion about Hyderabad but the reason maybe because you haven't met the right crowd.

Restrictions? Hyd is a little more conservative when compared to Bangalore or Mumbai but then the city has more than its share of pluses.

Cosmopolitan culture? If you happen to be in the IT belt, (location wise, ie Hitec City) it can't get more cosmopolitan that! If your area of work is in another industry then I'm afraid you will find the majority of the workforce comprising localites. I'm sure this is the case with many cities in India, so please don't crib there.

Open minded? Again maybe, you've met a bunch of people who are rigid in their outlook. You can only curse your fate for that!

Finally, don't you think its slightly odd to post a msg such as yours on a discussion board? If you are looking to make friends why don't you join one of the numerous activity-centric clubs in Hyderabad? There are quiz/oratory/theatre clubs here. When you share a common hobby with others, the chances of bonding will be much higher.

On that note, have a nice time while you are here!
Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you are right.

Looking for good friends

by VJ » Tue May 09, 2006 9:35 pm

Hello Bimbette!

Great Advice as was said by Sharjeel. Firstly Iam sorry about posting my opinions on this discussion thread! But I was helpless, Unable to find good friends, my own people/friends betrayed me (Its personal ofcourse). I was looking for a few good friends to chill out and at the same time some one to talk to and keep myself smiling.

My loneliness is killing me. The fact is that I myself an Andhrite (Telengana Region), I studied in Maharashtra and abroad, seen a few cities in and out of India. Presently in Hyd. Unable to cope up with the loneliness and the only friends I have now is my computer/TV etc. Iam a software engineer looking for a good job.

My another smart reason to post such a message was to see someone acknowledge to this thread and then I get to know someone to talk to or chat to and make some friends for myself. I welcome anyone interested in being a good friend of mine. And please let me know on how to join the clubs with all the specific details. Thanx!

Thanks Sharjeel and VJ.

VJ, I bet it gets lonely when you move to a new city (I've been there!) but you've got to get up and help yourself. When I was all alone in a new city, I went for a movie or two on my own (yes, alone!)/did lunch(es) all by myself/expanded my friend circle by doing group-related activities (treks/walks, the works!)

Why don't you try reading? A good book is better company than people sometimes.

There is an oratory club called YOC (Young Orator's Club) that meets at YMCA, Sec-bad every saturday.

Maybe you should drop in at YMCA sometime to find out more. You could play a sport there.
Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you are right.

Looking for good friends

by VJ » Thu May 11, 2006 1:53 pm

Oh Nooooooooooo! Don't take me to reading again! Iam sick of that life. I read, read, read, read and readddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd. Iam too tired of all that _ stuff reading.

When I studied my MS my table was full of books and papers. Now I can't take it anymore. Iam sick of those stuff. Now looking to just chill out. I lost everyone due to my studies. I get a feeling that I might end up alone in this world. To avoid that I am trying to make some good friends.

Coming to Oratory, Iam not interested in becoming a good orator. Iam a natural leader with built in leadership skills. Time should prove that anyways. Its too early to boast myself.

Coming to new cities, I always liked to mingle with people from different backgrounds and different cultures. It gives me an element of happiness when I always see something new and different. :D

I might struggle in the beginning, but my open minded nature should pave me offfffffffff.

Keeping it final Lets hope for the best in HYD itself which is my Homecity and developing in every sense which I can see that. But still my loneliness is defeating me in every sense. Nothing is working for me these days. May be I should start chasing some girls now.
