dengue fever

hmm i have been struck.struck hard by the dengue fever or so my doc claims.neways i just had fever for 2 days which was a week back.its been almost ten days since its hit me. now the problem starts in the night when i try to sleep. my legs pain like crazy its that pulling kinda pain.well does anyone know any cure for this kinda pain.

now where is Dr Sujata. my legs hurt. my reaserch online says that there is a possibility of this leading to some dengue hammeorage(whatevre the spelling i might be dying so do ovrluk that) fever. it says the blood cells get bored of flowing thru the body and express this desire by wanting to flow outside the body. my perception of medical terms and the sorts has led me to beleive that my blood went to the hardware store and started hammering the hell outta my blood. anyways DR SUJATA come to my rescue i am dying.yes and please do tell me how much time i am left with.

hello this is a human body over here. i just cant reboot and get my blood flowing back into my system. oh god what has come of the world. thats what i am. a total hypo. but then isnt it genuine to be worried about health. tell my my fren if u were effected by the deadly dengue virus. there being fiur of them in all. what would u do. what if the blood in ur body was hammering its way out of ur system. with jus a few hours to live what would u do the death being in 12 hrs. or they say blood trannsfusion is a hopeful cure. now where will they get me buckets of blood and keep pouring it thru my body.what if it has AIDS. eeeek help i need to get an AIDS test done too and a whole laod of viruses will be entering my system if i get transfused.only u can saave me from this.pleeease get Dr Sujata

oh yes this is a lame attempt. if the blood starts hammerng its way out of my legs then i would end up being lame.now at least u seem to be understanding the gravity of the situation. and yes the gravity would make my leg bloods cells explode first. but then i have no desires to change my name to peeping tom or sleep huck.

thanks for the concern.am at home with buckets all over me waiting for my blood vessels to explode. don wanna mess the house.poor maid will have to clean up all that blood in my memory. to spare her the process of deboloodying my remains i have kept the buckets. please do pay respects to the guy u will c in tomos obituary column. shall add my weight height so that u can run a check

CLINICAL FEATURES OF DENGUE FEVER

Generally 2 days malaise and head ache

Acute stage is as follows

Fever, backache, arthralgias, headache, generalised pains, pain on eye movement, lacrimation, loss of appetite, nausea, vomitting, relative bradicardia(reduced pulse rate with respect to fever) prostration, depression, lymph node enlargement

Regarding Fever

Continuous with break on fourth or fifth day.

usually lasts 7-8 days

Skin rash may develope

Blood tests

Leucopenia ( blood leucocytes will be reduced)

thrombocytopenia (reduced platelets)The virus can be recovered from the blood and there are tests for viral antigen and antibody.

HAVE YOU DONE YOUR BLOOD TEST?

Treatment

There is no specific treatment.The severe pains can be releived by paracetamol. but occasionally opiates are required.Aspirin should be avoided

Corticosteroids have not been shown to help.

No existing antivirals are effective.

In dengue heamorrhagic fever which you fear

there may be

Hypotension( drop in BP)

Nose bleed(epistaxis)

gasto intestinal bleeding

the traetment for this is not clear

dont worry you have not developed this stage.

If that stage comes chances of death by that is 10%

well half the anxiety was just for kicks.i have done the blood test and the indicator that the doc used was the leucocyte count which was 3300 cells/cumm and the platelet count was 1,25,000 cells/ul. have to collect a second set of blood test reports to see if there is an improvement which i do feel. well about the pains i am allergic to paracetemol so the doc advised voveran but that doesn seem to help and i have had 2 miserable nights of sleeplessness coz o the pain.
