by Radha krishna » Sat Oct 23, 2004 8:44 pm

they simply refused

they only want the printed one.

Did the theater ask you to get the printed tickets clearly when you registered on the Net. Yes..Then you should have.

They are right to have deny you entrance. This way they are protecting the people who bought the ticket. The printed version is the right way of getting entrance. If you analyse the whole processs it looks right for Prasad to have denied you entrance.

I understand your frustration but a rule is a rule you have to stick to the rules.

I second that because many people can just rip of the codes..... or prasadz didnt have the tickets... .

yes, the rules in the Prasad's site states that the printout of the confirmation page is mandatory.

that apart, there are certain rules about Prasad's ticketing that needs a review, like 1) if u buy tickets at the box office, even if days in advance, they allot seats from the rows closest to the screen. even if vacant seats are available in the rear rows, they flatly refuse to allot them without explanation. only the phone/net booking tickets are allotted from the rear. they shud allot seats on first come first served basis. 2) the internet booking process is crude. they shud look at the net booking process of delhi multiplex chain 'PVR'. 3) they need to accept credit cards at the box office as well at the web-site. 4) teach some of the staff polite behaviour.

right now Prasad's has a sort of monopoly in the hearts of the cinephiles and can afford to behave as they like. shortly when PVR opens at Punjagutta, followed by more multiplexes, they'll get a kick in their backsides and hopefully tone up their customer service.

The money is well spent of corse, but it is a bit too steep. how much profit do they want? Sooner or later someone is gonna come up with another similarly sized Multiplex and then the price wars can commence  .

try telling that to someone who gets to watch any movie from the front rows! how much profit? as much as they can, obviously.

Grandpa is right....the price wars wud start once there is competetion. that has already happened in delhi n mumbai multiplexes and also in multiplexes abroad. the war would include special rates for certain shows on certain days, for children, for couples (on valentines day, for example) or free snacks and so many other schemes.

Indians are going ga-ga over multiplexes, which is why we are seeing the high prices. but after some times, there will be enough multiplexes so that the monopolistic nature will have to go, and they will have to offer competent rates and good Customer Care.

To answer Azzy, my point was that going to a Multiplex is guaranteed fun. You generally get good people (because of the price), and the multiplexes are new, so they are clean, and the quality of stuff is still very good. so me can take me family to a multiplex and i know they will enjoy the experience, which may or may not happen at your local cinema theatre.

on that day i had decided to see the movie Dhoom.

Prasadz was looking like fish market.

I saw so many frustrating young couples/faces with inabilty to get the tickets.

I drove my vehicle direct to parameswari theatre.

cool.

Beleive me I got the ticket for Rs35,standing for 5 minutes in the queue.

Saw the movie.

I had to take one tea and Bun at irani cafe opposite to the theatre.

matter over.

Analysis from the multiplex capital of India - Ahmedabad.

Service : This will never have anything to do with competition. Service is something that's driven by the organisation's culture and not by someone else competing for the same market. I've been to 7 multiplexes in Ahmedabad - all giving out varying quality of service. I feel that the satisfaction levels from the service recieved by a person at any outlet - multiplex or otherwise - also depends on the expectations the person has from the outlet. From whatever I've seen of Prasad's, the organisation is pretty low on service/customer orientation. There have been numerous instances where both me and my friends have felt cheated after paying hefty prices and not recieving service commensurate to that (as I mentioned earlier, the commensurate part is highly subjective.

Prices : This is something that competition will definitely bring down. The first multiplex to open shop in Ahmedabad used to charge an astronomical Rs.150 for a ticket. But as more multiplexes started opening, the prices started coming down. One truly earnest multiplex, R-World, even came out with a knockout scheme giving two tickets free for the matinee shows of English movies on purchase of a 2 Ltr Coke. I'm not sure whether entrepreneurs in AP would be as innovative as their gujju counterparts, but we can definitely expect better pricing once Prasad's sees competition.

I agree totally. Prasads is a nice multiplex and people send me brickbats whenever I say something against the place, but they have grown way too big for their boots and haven't the faintest idea how to treat customers. They have the monopoly and so they think they can get away with anything!

I have crossed the place several times but didn't know until now that the huge building was going to house a PVR cineplex. Looking forward to it. Still have fond memories of PVR Priya and Anupam :D

I like Sangeet too...Skyline is shady. I went with my neighbour to Skyline to see The Last Samurai...and when he went to the loo, I actually waited for him just outside the door to the men's loo. For all this, it was a night show too.
