i second CADS views on helmets. nothing can guaruntee 100% safety...helmets only reduce the impact of the accident to a gr8 extent....they r ur best chance of survival in case of an accident.CtrlAltDel wrote:ek baar experiment ke liye...ek 40kmph speed ke bike se sar pe giro....without helmet....zinda bachoge tho khud samajh jaoge...DQ wrote:CAD samajh jao

A Professional Hypothetical analysis! in the situation u describe, it is more likely that atleast the pillion rider wud be fighting for life at NIMS or OUGH.DQ wrote:Goes on to tell what amateurs I am dealing with.
Rajbhavan road, guys on Shogun, speed 80-100 (No one is wearing a helmet).
Cycle whizzes from the boom gates (Makhta) comes in the way. Guys avoid it, hit a part of it. Driver applies both brakes, the pillon rider takes aflight of 8-12 meters.
The driver goes scraping with the bike for another 6 meters. The bikes fork is bent. Both drivers get up, bruises on cheek, neck, shoulder and knees. Load the bike in a Auto of to a mechanic.
Lesson : Be in control of your vehicle, stay active.
u r right....but a fall from a bike can happen even in the safest conditions. i never said helmet is a solution for traffic ills. the arguement is that helmets wud save life in an accident. why do many countries with strictest traffic rules make helmets compelsory for all two wheelers....including bicycles in some places? a fall on the head from a bike going at 30 or 40 is as fatal. why speak of only accidents? what abt ,say, an oil slick on the road?DQ wrote:What Govt needs to learn :
1. Impose a speed limit on such roads. In hyd (Necklace road, Rajbhavan road, Tank bund etc)
2. Create seprate cycle tracks, train users to stay in cycle tracks.
3. A signal near the boom gates.
No signal there as VIPS and Governor need to whizz past on this road.

its yr good luck that yr head didnt hit the road. what if it had...?DQ wrote:The Guy riding the bike was me, and pillon rider is very much in Hyderabad.
Helmets are not the Solution.[/quote]who said that? accidents can happen anytime and helmets increase the chances of escaping alive.DQ wrote:Look if death was there it would have come with the helmet on to.

Helmet is only a money spinning scheme. First educate users. Come tough on offenders. Then introduction of Helmet rule will be a worthy cause.

You got your ass kicked in the Nizam thread like how the Nizam got his ass kicked by the British.DQ wrote:Do not argue, when you do not have your facts right. A constant referal to this thread was made in The Nizam thread.
What happened ?

Oh.. so you are pissed off about the Police Action... i.e how the Indian forces took charge over Hyderabad. But it was bound to happen. If the Nizam was not going to become a part of India after freedom.. by the way the FREEDOM which he never contributed to.DQ wrote:Was it the Brits or Police Action.
Get your facts right.
