A possibility of LIFE?

by Alexis » Thu Jul 08, 2004 12:02 am

Theres so much debate on the possibility of extra-terrestrial life. Now theres probably a good chance there might be, since traces of water were found on Mars.

Could there be a form of life that may exist or may have existed in the universe outside of Earth. For years scientists have speculated about the possibility of extraterrestrial life and have even searched for its existence, yet no such life has been detected.

There have been cases of Alien Abductions and sightings as well.

What do you believe?

Personally, I think that the universe is so vast and mostly unexplored. So, how can we assume there might not be life beyond the areas in space we're familiar with?

i too strongly believe that extra terrestrial life exists. in this universe, its foolish to assume earth is the ONLY planet that cud support life. like u said Mars has water deposts...so life is a possibility.

only thing is we cannot be sure if extra terrestrial life cud be more advanced that us, as portrayed in sci-fi. they even cud be in any grotesque (or better) shape than like "li'l green men"

Remember when I was young, I was totally into the extraterrestrial stuff Alexis? I remember staying up late in the nights reading the 100's of books I had on the subject. Putting into consideration all the reading Ive done, I would definately agree that there is life on other planets.

Recently (about a month ago), the Mexican Navy Base was chased by a UFO which was caught on tape. The US government tried to hide the tapes from the people, but they were leaked and we all got a good eyeful on the 5:00pm news. This just proves that there must be something up there.

Yes it is. Any living thing, whether it be a bacteria, amoeba, etc., need water for sustainance. Without water nothing can exist. That is how scientists came up with a conclusion, that their definately is a possibility of life on mars. Where there is water, there is life nearby.

Mayavi-------EXACTLY what the US government would want you to think. Seriously, why do you think the area 51 is such a big deal and off limits to ANYONE and EVERYONE?? You need to talk to someone who dealt with things there one-on-one, and then form a second opinion. I have.

There is definitely extra-terrestial life... Titan : one of the moons of Jupiter has ecological environment very similar to that of earth albeit a bit colder ...

& then there is the restaurant at the end of the Universe : a fav hangout for all life-forms in the universe

Aqua is right. water is one of the building blocks and media to create the amino acids that go into "Life" ie cells. the presence of water indicates a strong possibility of life as is known to us.

we shud also consider that there cud be soem forms of life without water. we dont know that yet. that also points to the possibility of alien life.

CAD, thats a point I wanted to bring up-----Why should we suppose that Alien life definitely requires water for their existence? They could very well be dependant on something else, such as some sort of gas.

 Sounds like a profitable trade-off!

On a serious note, I think its fascinating to think there might be another world out there with beings much more intelligent and sophisticated than we Earthlings are.

Think about the possibilities.

Ok sure, they could be primitive and backward beings. But maybe (hopefully) not.

How do you explain Alien abductions then? And how about the untampered photos of UFO's?

How do we know there arent Aliens in our midst already? In disguise. Studying our world and people for reasons best known by them.

i think its safer to have primitive aliens. then we cud take over their planet instead of the other way round as in stories...:D
Alexis wrote:How do you explain Alien abductions then?
theres no proof yet that they happened.
Alexis wrote:And how about the untampered photos of UFO's?
where r they? all most all photos have been accused of being hoaxes. maybe they r genuine, but no one knows for sure.

Dubya might as well blonde his hair and become best pals with Jessica Simpson. They can go to the mall together, gossip, get their nails done, etc. If that dumass can do all that without messing up, I'd cheer for him.

You really need to watch Fahrenheit 9/11. It'll change your whole perspective of the current Presidency and the war in Iraq. Basically, it'll piss you off. :x

read this somewhere : The biggest proof that intelligent extra-terrestrial life exists is that they have never tried to contact us! :P

i dont belive that aliens exist.. quite frankly, all the expenditure done in the name of space exploration could be put to good use in the benfit of the beings that exist on this planet !!
