The Hutch Ad - You v/s You

The previous hutch ad with the pug following the boy - did not do anything for hutch but definitely made PUG the hottest selling pet dog. .. the take of Mirinda on this series was good.

the dumbest Ads these days are the ones with Amitabh trying to sell Hajmola of all things :x

My favourite ad will always be IBM. Their ads smack of the IBM attitude. All their ads shout at the top of their voice that IBM computers are a class apart. They are the perfect leader's advertisements. Somethign that throws competition back a step or two just by brute force. Simply put, Kickass!!

As for television advertisements, there's no clear favourite as such. So here are some ads/campaigns I liked and the reasons why.

1. Sprite (Pre Mt.Dew days) : There was a freshness to the All taste, no gyaan ads that just made you love them. The punchline was catchy and it positioned the product the way it was intended to. This campaign created a new genre in the indian advertising industry and many more similar campaigns followed.

2. Kawasaki Bajaj KB 100 (Ride the Cheetah) : My first exposure to technology being used appropriately in advertising. The morphing at that time was crystal clear and neat.

3. Onida (Neighbour's envy, Owner's pride) : The devil was considered blasphemous initially. But the ad turned Onida into a household name and catapulted it to the market leader position in TV's.

4. Whirlpool Icemagic : One of the most visually appealing ads ever made. They made ice look divine.

5. The Coke/Pepsi commercial war : Coke, as always was advertising with only one thing in mind. Corporate Image. And then came the Pepsi sting. And a bad one at that. India was one of the places where Coke was the strongest hit by the Pepsi onslaught. There came the masterstroke. Coke let Thums Up loose on Pepsi. And what followed was a delight. The fight that spawned years and featured catfights like the Gorilla segments, the Salman Khan/Akshay Kumar stunts and some remarkable wit.

My favorite commercial is the GEICO INSURANCE commercial, it is so hilarious! Also, the M&M's commercials.
Is that a pistol in your pocket, or are you pleased to meet me?

Two favourites:

1) the Nokia ad that came out in May last year (don't remember the model), the one with the jerky, surreal picturization

2) the original Nescafe ad, the one before the 'the taste that gets you started' ad, but with the same jingle

Love both for the music...

a tall guy seeing her plight comes close to help her and realises there it is heineken and that too only one carton is available.........coolly takes it for himself

2.) Gold 90 FM radio:

A small-fat kid will be trying to learn to play tennis and this skills are pathetic.......then, the coach starts explaining to the kid's dad:

Sir, Ur son has NO natural ability, he will NEVER be number one blah blah blah.............

Dad only listens to ; Ur so has *** natural ability, he will **** be number one......etc etc

Aamir Khan's Hyderabadi coke ad ;)
Things are supposed to happen the way they happen. And the reason they happen the way the happen is because you try to make them happen in a certain way and may or may not be succesful.

Real pleasure does not come in an instant.

One hell of an ad that was!
