Where has the romance gone?

by Lucifer » Mon Jun 28, 2004 11:26 am

'Aapke Paaon Dekhe. Bahut Sundar Hain. Inhe Zameen Pe Mat Rakhiyegaa, Maile Ho Jaayenge'

'Hum Intezaar Karenge, Tera Qayamat Tak. Khuda Kare Ki Qayamat Ho Aur Tu Aaye'

Absolute gems, are they not? Unfortunately, we do not see them anymore. What has happened to the concept of romance in Hindi movies? Give me a Pakeezah or a Taj Mahal anyday to loads of kisses and bikini scenes that we get these days in the name of new age cinema.

Who cannot recall songs like 'Dil Ke Jharoke Mein', 'Yeh Mera Prem Patra Padhkar', etc.? Fabulous! Does anyone else miss them, or is it just me who is a sucker for romance?

That raises a follow-up question. How in the name of the Devil does n00b stand for newbie?

Can we regress back to the topic, please?

Just got reminded of that scene from Shri 420 when Nargis throws herself in the arms of Raj Kapoor as if she had given up all of herself to him. That scene had such an impact that legend has it that the RK Banner's logo is inspired from it.

Never saw that film, CAD. So, could you please describe the scene in explicit detail so that I could compare the two? Remember, every little detail would be a help.

gettin back to the topic of n00b....

n00b is a l33t or 1337 version of sayin...newbie..

it started out this way.... newbie wen shortened becomes noob....pronounced "noo-bee"....

now u see...there's a certain type of internet language wich is titled "l33t" or "1337" by its more hardcore users.

this language uses numbers/special characters to replace alphabets...

for example L33T stands for ELITE.....like this, L is the "yell" part... 33 is the "ee" part.. and T finishes it off... pronounced together it becomes... YellEET.... 1337 is jus a higher version of this..

rock's signature is an example of 1337 lingo...

u can find 1337 generators all over d net..

**tips hat for d useless trivia**

Introducing New Xylocaine (10% extra strong)

Dear Seniors,

This is Saf, basically a hyderabadi, working as a proffer for MT. Me browsing this site often since April this year and attracted with the sense of humor most of u have. Alright, I have been thru the “noobs” topic just. I feel this short introduction is enough about me… what else? for clear… none of u r going to form a business contract with me.

I hope I am no more a noob now.

Sincerely,

Xylocaine
