Are you a Firstborn?

Starting a new topic...hopefully hasn't been discussed before:

Research shows that firstborns are an ambitious lot. They take the first step, take more risk and generally have more authoritative qualities. Therefore, they are born leaders.

My question is does that mean all firstborn are leaders and are all leaders firstborn?

[Some examples are: half the US presidents, Wilbur Wright, da Vinci etc.]

What about you guys, members of FH?

Is this true for you because you are a firstborn? Any second/middle/last born that agree or disagree about this phenomenon?

I'm d lasborn or d youngest....

i was always d most gregarious of d lot...n i'm totally an extrovert.....

leadership-wise well....i'm "ok" at dat...d problem bein dat i can nvr be completely serious...d spammin version of me u see on thse boards is very much like my real-life persona....if there's any such thing as spammin in real-life....

....

wat i wud like to add here though is dat...

we are a trio...d eldest bein my sis...my bro stuck in d middle..n then moi....

my bro is like d natural-born leader....he's awesome at takin d first step as such...my sis well...any talk 'bout her ovah here will end up in my head bein chopped off...so no talk bout her....

I dont think those two can be called leaders and Wilbur had help, his younger brother!!!

On topic, first borns generally do have more authorative qualities since they are used to bossing around their siblings. (i shud know :roll:

) but this does not necessarily imply that they become born leaders. Born leaders are the ones who are born with certain skills such as good oratory abilities, communication skills etc. and in some cases also need to be good strategists. Therefore you cannot generalise that all first-borns are leaders and all leaders are first-borns

Im a first-born. I'll let my sisters tell you how I am though. I'd obviously give you a very biased opinion about myself.

There was this guy in my class while copying notes he used to sing gumnam hai koi dood, the first day it happened i had a nightmare :shock:

First born.

Extremely ambitious. And a quick learner too. Don't be surprised to find me on magazine covers soon. :mrgreen:

Risk Taker? Yes. I've always had that entrepreneural (sp?) streak in me and I always look at things with that perspective. But yes...I've never taken indiscriminate risks in my life. They've always been calculated.

Successful? Time will tell.

Loosers talk abt being born second (not being born first) as "having a disadvantage"/"the eldest being more like a leader"........

Until now...most of the decisions: ive made myself......sometimes taking risk and doing things 180degree opposite of what my family wanted me to do......now they say, u cud see ahead everytime, we were always thinking of tomorrow.......

I am No 1 ... Ambitious or not, I have been to the Big Cities of the Country, invariably to return 'Home'. Even to Bombay, the "Gateway (Out) of India", only to return to Happy Hyderabad. My Younger Brothers, All Five of Them, turned out to be more enterprising and adventurous ... They went Beyond Bombay and Delhi, Out into the Wide World, Became Wise and Leaders in their Chosen Careers ... While I remained Otherwise at Home ... I am CoW - Centre of the World! ... All have to come to Me!
