Press Sense - 24 / 6* Only “Monkey-Catcher” of Hyderabad!Fida Hussain, 60-Plus, of Bakaram (Musheerabad), is the only “licensed” Monkey-Catcher in Hyderabad. He started his Career at 16 and learnt the skill from Rukunuddin, another M-C. He catches about 20 Monkeys a Month, and he is paid for each monkey Rs 250 by the MCH. “Suppose You catch 20 Monkeys this Year. The same time next Year, You will find 50 Monkeys in their place,” he says about the increasing Monkey Population.
Hussain follows a time-consuming Three-Step Method:
• Makes the Monkeys Feel Comfortable With Him
• Lays the Trap: Throws Peanuts
• Lays the Net … As the Monkeys Begin To Eat The Nuts … Flings the Net … and hands over the Monkeys to the Concerned Authority (MCH).
Hussain lives with his Two Sons and Five Daughters. The Younger Son Amjad helps him in his Job.
