Indian Ocean, the fusion band from Delhi[?!?!?] played at Durgam cherevu in a show organized by The Society to Save the Rocks ..

It was an awesome experience for a dedicated metal-head like me..

it didnt change any perspective of mine, just broadened my musical horizons.. their earthy, fluent, truly Indian sound enamoured me totally!

also, the show put on by Metakix/Sceptre [both from Bombay] at Necklace Road was the best head-banging experience for me n most metal-heads in Hyd

what up dude... haven't you been to the shows at one flight down..sure sledge is the only band that plays there but they do get some prettty good bands there some times... and dude i went to the indian ocean show at dc and all anybody there wanted to listen to was kandisa and they kept up an irritating banter whenever the band played anything other than that one song. and i absolutley don't see the connection bet IO and metal..... i'm confused but that metakix and sceptre show was really somethin... did you get to hear Blood Mace..they played the day before these bands came on....

anyway if i come across a concert i'll keep you posted and i'd ppreciate it if you could do like wise

for a guy who seems at ease spitting out names.. the statement that metallica ain't metal is very amusing.... nice to see an attempt at humour which isn't forced... keep it up buddy and maybe one of these days your opinion bout metallica just might affect them and force them to give up music for good....

dude, did u hear the song Mama Said?

i swear thats a country tune!!!

Lars Ulrich's drumming sux big time. Hetfield can't sing no more, Hammet forgot everything that Satriani taught him.

its high time they retired from the metal scene...they would do themselves a huge favour!

I agree with the demon. Indian Ocean was an incredible experience! Granted, it wasn't the first time I'd heard their music, but it WAS the first time I'd heard them in concert. Asheem Chakravarty's voice just blew me away!

The whole setting was amazing too. I've never been to concert with a setting like that. Everything, from the music to the lighting to the ambience seemed to blend into one big high.

I've been to other concerts, right from MLTR through Bryan Adams and Roger Waters, but this was a different experience all together...

why my man why must you single out that one song..... and if you've heard st anger(title song) or sweet amber how can you say that ulrich sucks... even after 20 years the dude's got it.... sure they may not be as original as before but then changing with the times isn't necessarily a bad thing even though a lot of people will disagree with this... they have been around for long enough and they are at a point where they don't need to prove a point anymore... but thats my opinion...

Fidd, sorry to burst your bubble, but I think Azazel just added another dimension to his musical plane. Calling him 'convert' ain't fair. SO, you go can go "purrraaaisse the laawwrd" when you actually find another Bakra. As far as the gig was concerned it was FAB!

Black Wiz, IMO "Mama Said" was one of the sveetest song to have ever penned down by any artiste. They felt that it was time to move on with their 'career', and explore other aural avenues. They made their own style and musical statement, and 'progressed' with time oblivious to public bantering. If this ain't "metal" then what else is? Also, Metallica, was the single most force which made 'Metal' mainstream. The very fact that, you even are able to access so many bands is bacause of 'tallica. Metallica defntly metal. Lars Ulrich was like a God to me 10 yrs back, and as far as I am concerned he still is to me.

Badcash_high(?!??!) - Do I see goregrind in your post? Now.. now.. get out of that Purgatory Bay and lets march under the Grind flag. Core/Crust/Mince/Splatter... whats your pick, boy?

been a long time psd... i'm right there with you on metallica man... dude i'm not all that good with genres never have been but lets see...

cannibal corpse, behemoth, angeldust, cephalic carnage, nile, burzum, kataklysym, morbid angel, cryptopsy, overkill, slayer, sepultura, dark angel, fear factory, pantera, ozzy(bs,ozzman), nevermore, tool, decide, meshuggah, motorhead, machinehead, aborted, dimmu borgair, entombed, obituary....

as is evident the music i listen to has no order of genre... but i'm always open to influence..... so whats up with you???
