So this is how I think it happened…
Gandhi - Nehru – Jinnah – Lady Mountbatten – Lord Mountbatten – other leaders of congress meet for coffee to discus about croquet, clothes, jewelry and race horses. In the party Lady Mountbatten develops a fancy for Mr. Gandhi. You know Gandhi.. He is strutting around in loin cloth, exuding sexuality and charming people. She falls for this simple man, much like the British Lady falls in love with Bhuvan (Aamir Khan) in Laagan Movie. But Gandhi is faithful to Kasturba. The lady is heartbroken. So to get back at Gandhi; The lady begins to check out the next two available candidates; Nehru and Jinnah. Nehru is a playboy so he gets the first dibs on the lady and Jinnah is left behind. Jinnah is pissed. He wants to get back at Nehru. So he sits down with Lord Mountbatten to carve out Pakistan. And a nation is formed. You know the rest!

May 1947 - Partition of India is accepted by British, National Congress and Muslim League. Only person who opposes partition is Gandhi.
July 1947 - Sir Radcliffe is in charge of deciding the boundaries of the two new countries.
14 Aug 1947 - Pakistan formed.
15 Aug 1947 - India gains independence.
Aug-Oct 1947 - One of the greatest migrations of the history takes place, when an estimated 15 Million people cross the borders. The worst massacres that resulted between the Hindus and Muslims, claim 500,000 lives.
Oct 1947 - India-Pakistan war over Kashmir.

Why do you think Pakistan was formed Aug 14 one day before India declared Independence Aug 15th.
- Because Jinnah wanted to get back at Nehru.
