Forgive him, Akidna, for he knows not what he has said. The law of the land is applicable only when it comes to transference of power between the devil his spouse. Beyond that it is pretty much what these two do that counts. This law was laid down sometime around circa 1100 BC when the then devil, my grand father, and his wife had sqabbles over who had more powers. Since this really was not good for the future, it was decided that henceforth the devil and the she-devil would hold equal powers. The transfer would occur immediately after marriage.

Second, Lucifer never planned an assault on heaven nor did he even intend to. Our (heaven and hell) work boundaries are clearly defined and we do not infringe. That is why the world is so peaceful these days.
