gore kar deta! been tryin to post here for the past 2 days n everytime the stoopid page freezes! anyway, here goes:
Carpe Diem was pure n utter
CRAP! the only pleasant thing for me was the ride to n fro on the Enfield. here's the point by point carp :
1. the parking lot being in another college half a km. away!
2. the multiple-frisking b4 lettin us in. i mean WTF? terrorist samjha kya? these guys could get jobs as Airport Security!
3. no smoking! need i say more? lusars!
4. the whole schedule was changing from person to person. noone knew exactly when one thing would finish n the next one would start!
5. the humongously stoopid DJ n the jumpin jack junta who'd dance to anything wit dhinchuk beats. i mean ever heard dance remixes of Dire Straits? Nirvana? Bryan Adams? n remixes, yes REmixes of Prodigy/Kylie Minogue! wht a crass act man. n to top it all he messed with our aural sensibilities till 10 pm!
6. then, the gates opened for Silk's performance for which we were there. after taking a considerable time arranging everything for the set, they proceeded to cruelly butcher my expectations. wht a lousy performance man. didnt expect this from a band feat. such an ensemble of respected musicians. Shankar Mahadevan was pathetic, tryin so hard to suck up to the crowd who btw, had no idea of wht was goin on. left after 45 mins into Silk's performance. heard they played movie songs incl. a coupla telugu numbers..
tht was my stay at the Carpe Diem. lousy experience.
