Today we travelled through the newly laid Railway line from Chennai Beach station to Anna nagar.
It passed through the Royapuram Railway Station, South India's first and oldest Railway station. But presently it look like Ghost house.
The small (3 Car) train started at 1500 hrs from Chennai Beach station.
Reached Anna nagar Railway station at 1545 hrs.
Once again my relief from Heat is Reliance web world at 2nd Avenue, Anna Nagar. from where I am writing this letter now.
Long live well maintained reliance web worlds.
That too in places like Chennai.
Our next destination is Anna Nagar tower.
poor thing, u must've missed ur homework completely... this is the time of 'agni-nakshathram' which is approx. a week to 10 days of intense heat... Madras has always been just as hot during May... I don't know what you were expecting. It's like going to Ladakh in December and complaining about freezing temps. I don't know why you took the train ride... these electric trains are designed more for people getting from pt. A to pt.B for work... purely functional. Too bad that the highlight of ur stay in madras is the reliance web world... having been here all my life, I'd be first to admit that there is nothing much to 'see' for tourists... the usual stuff like museums, beaches etc... but what you can do is get hold of some local and go around experiencing normal life... just walk around the streets, visit a few college campuses- Loyola, IIT maybe... just get a feel for chennai life. If you're one of those point-to-point tourists, I'm sure Chennai is not the place for you... surely not during May. I could've taken you around the city, but I'm down with conjuctivitis right after lasik surgery on my eyes... so I'm under house-arrest for a few days. Anyway, happy travelling!
