before downloading anything, open windows media player... and follow this sequence on the menu:

FILE >> OPEN>>

change the "files of type" tab to "all files".. browse through the VCD's directories and u'll find a .dat file.. open it now and it shd start playing.

Windows Media Player is an absolute bakwaas...memory hogging gargoyle. I prefer using Ashampoo for playing VCD's. The app may be downloaded from http://www.ashampoo.com.

And my Q : Shouldn't it be spelt "FONETIC"?

Mplayer is da best. Download the window version, though not as good as the linux original.

The only app. which was able to play .DAT files on my comp was AVIPreview - http://www.avipreview.com

az, the right usage is saying 'he cousin' instead of cousin brother and 'she cousin'.

guruji.. its not applicable to roosters and hens.. or maybe it is. ask them :idea:

Hey all!

Results from attempting to follow the given suggestions:

Badmash: Tried it your way, it froze my computer and I had to restart.

MM: Which program? I tried one [cant remember name now] from some website.

Rain: I tried it this way too. It froze on me again! And, the next time I tried it, it took forever to load for some reason

HP: Is ashampoo.com free software?
