they are not meant for high speeds....not more than 90-100 kmph.Sharjeel wrote:azazel wrote:Sharjeel wrote:Tall cars and high speed![]()

I was talking about cars which are tall, e.g., Maruti van, Santro, Indica...
They're terrrible at high speeds compared to ground hugging cars like Lancer, Ikon...

kya baat kar rahe ho yaar, only the Van is the guilty party here. Indica n Santro are both quite stable at high-speed. have driven both, certainly didnt feel like i wasnt in control.

Reminds me of a situation my friend faced. He was going on 120kmph in a Palio and suddenly some cow starts to cross the road. This guy thought that if he brakes the car would go out of controll,so he kept the car in first gear and let go,the gear box broke immediately and the car stopped. When he took the car to service they said it had some parts broken which they didnt understand becuase they never saw that part.Sharjeel wrote:You mst be talking about high speeds on glass tops. But I am talking about high speeds on normal roads.
I was at 70 in my indica and a pair of cows strayed onto the road about 300 ft ahead. Shunning page-boy tricks (cant do that with dad beside me), I decided that it'd be better if I lost momentum quickly. I applied brakes and the stupid thing was swerving like a snake. Result was that I had to gently apply the brakes with the car stopping almost on top of the cows (Will have to remove my fingernails from the steering wheel later)

thats why i say: drive at that speed only where u'd be comfortably handling such a situation.

wtf? i am driving an Indica since more than an year n its one of the most stable n rock steady small cars in the market....i've driven it at 100 kmph on highways and had no trouble controlling it even while avoiding dumb cyclists and stray buffalos on the route. The Jackal wrote:I hate Indica, there is no stability in the car and it just doesnt seem right,I feel something is missing in the car.
