housing in Hyd

hiya Guys,



I've just got my terms and conditions for my transfer to India,

looks like i could be in Hyd by the end of the month.



i think i posted something about this before,

but i have a more specific idea of what salary i'll be on now

so i got to rethink my housing.



a few questions

What is a good proportion of your income to spend on housing?

i.e. if i was earning 10000rs per month what should be my

housing budget (i don't really know what the cost of other

things are, so bear with me if these sound like stupid questions)



Secondly, are there lots of small flats in Hyd, like 1 bedroom

or studio (1 room) flats? how much would one small flat in a

reasonably ok area of Hyd cost per month?



How common is house sharing, and is this the way to go?

I'd like a place on my own if possible but i think it

might be outta my budget.







lastly, any advice on housing that you can think of would be great.

abt me...well i have my own house...so i just gotta pay my electricity n phone bills...which is approx 2500 per month (i am married, so u can understand the high phone bill......)

there are one bedroom (not one room studios) flats available but more common are the 2-bedroom ones or higher. u can contact some real estate agents in your first week here. i am sure your company admins wud help u out. else...dontya worry...we r there 2 help u

sharing a 2 or 3 bedroom flat with one or two more is the most common and best option here...u just gotta find someone who shares yr wave-length and taste in food. btw cook yr own food...that wud work out cheaper.

possible expenses: house rent, electricity, water, groceries, cellphone and/or landline, cableTV, entertainment (pubs, movies etc), transport (auto-ricks, taxis). if u manage yr money cleverly u can have a girlfriend too...

all these can be managed in yr budget without worrying abt savings.
i remember u mentioning before that saving is not your priority. if living from pay-day to pay-day is what u want...u can have a decent living here.

I can't wait to come live in Hyderabad!

Hyd is much cheaper in terms of house rental. In Nagpur you would pay around 5000/- for a nice comfy family sized house, while in Hyd it would come to around 4k only.



Regarding the rental and elct bills, it would depend upon the amount of peeps with which u share the house. Meat is very cheap, but Fruits and Veggies are somewhat costly.
