TIME bomb

What will happen if WTO (read USA) says, "In all countries, people should work only for 35 hrs a week" ?

I think, when the going gets tough, this rule will be implemented to break the back of India and China where weekly working hrs range anything from 45-60hrs !! whereas in most western countries...its 35-40 hrs.

What happens if the software companies in India and mfd companies in China are required to maintain only 35 hr working week ? i think the cost adv the two nations have will come down .......

i just got the tought when DC announced yesterday, work for 40hrs (cyrrent 35hrs) or will shift jobs to North Germany or SA.....

am wondering...what will happen if WTO says, all people around the world shud work only 35 hrs a week.

its already being implemented in BPO/Call Center industry. they dont have a problem. shifts are coz no one can be expected to work continously for long hours.

its not possible to implement that in s/w sector. a s/w guy cannot drop his work midway n go home coz its 6pm  i think this is true of most sectors, except of corz the government!

The US will not do that, IMO.

They have one of the most conservative, right wing governments in the world, and even if the democrats get in this year, they're not particularly left wing compared to most of Europe. If there was such an initiative its much more likely to come from Europe

u need no be a software pro to "quote" MoonMist :) its as simple as clicking "Send" in emails.
what ever is typed between
and
appears in the white box.

if u want to name the person u r quoting from replace [quote] with [quote="...name..."].

whoever does it doesnt really matter......what matters is the industries having to pay more than they are paying rt now and their exenditure will increase........... in way that may effect ofshoring of jobs, any kinda of jobs.....then the only solution is...internal ofshoring....shift from costly HYD to low cost Bihar :D
