Help needed to shift to secunderabad

by Nalina » Wed Jan 14, 2004 12:19 pm

Hi,

I would be moving to Secunderabad this month. I would be coming to work for a software Company.

I would like to know about the nearby places where I should look out for a good working womens Hostel in the near by areas of S P Road(Sardar Patel Road). Maximum budget for such a place is arround Rs 3000. It would be also great if anyone could even mention avilability of any Paying Guest in the surrounding area.

I am comming for the first time to HYD, if I could get some tips on do's and don'ts then it would be helpful.

Best Wishes,

Nalina

Welcome to the city

hey!

Welcome to our wonderful city! :)

you can look at a similar post by "New to Hyd" in this same section. I have given some suggestions and Do's n Dont' s to him, over there.

I invite others to give more info.

Regarding a place to stay, tell us where your company is located? Its better if you stay within 6-8 Kms from your work place. (Your reference to "SP Road" could mean that your company is located there...and I think I know what it is! Kya main Satya bol raha hoon?)

If I am right about your workplace, the residential areas that are in a radius of 5 kms are Sindhi Colony, Airlines Colony, Prenderghast (or PG) Road, Marredpally (West and East), Mahendra Hills, Begumpet, Picket, Karkhana, Gun Rock, Sikh Village/Road, Bowenpally, Padma Rao Nagar.

I suggest you look at the Classifieds section of this web-site.

Apart from Hostels and Paying guest joints, u might also consider taking a flat on rent if you find enuf colleagues or friends to share the expenses.

Let us know if u need any more info.

My view fo Hyd

Hey ... Nalina..

Coming to Hyd.. wouldnt hit much on ur pocket.. As i am also a similar to u.. working as a s.w engg ! think about renting a flat... if need by a shared acco... Wouldnt hurt ur pocket much as well ! There are a lot of working women's hostel as well.

I would strongly advice you not to bring any vehicles.. atleast initially. I have never driven in a place where traffic sense is pretty close to nil. City is a nice place and good to work and stay ! Apart from traffic sense.. this is a nice place.

Welcome to Hyd !!! feel free to buzz if u want to "itskumarv@yahoo.com"

Regards

Sri !!!
