Please give me the information of how expensive it is doing MS. How much cost would I incur at a maximum & at a minimum, and is it easy to get (& do) part time jobs during the course period?

C\'mon Sunil, information of this sort is available so much that you are literally flooded! Anyway, here are some links, if you haven\'t already seen them: <BR><BR>Probably the best source - http://www.gradschools.com/<BR>Of course, you know the good old Peterson\'s guide - http://www.petersons.com/gradchannel/<BR>And a yahoo directory - http://dir.yahoo.com/Education/Higher_E ... Education/<BR>Another good source - http://www.gradprofiles.com/<BR>This is also good but you need to bear with the annoying pop-ups - http://www.going2usa.com/<BR>Specific to your question: http://www.going2usa.com/education/expenses.html<BR>Lastly, another exhaustive one specifically for students of Indian origin - http://www.infozee.com/indiatimes/usa/i ... issues.htm<BR>Well, best wishes!

OK, here is an approximate estimate: The tuition fee can be anything from $5000 to $30000 depending upon the University. The expenses incurred (including rent, food, etc., etc) will not go beyond $1000 per month. In fact, most students live quite comfortably within $600-800 per month.

Sunil, the answer is yes and no. It mainly depends on where you are and what branch and how much funding your department gets. Techincally and legally speaking you are not supposed to work anywhere that\'s considered as off-campus. But, most of the students do take up odd jobs at restaraunts, gas stations, grocery stores, etc. It also depends on the place/city. Don\'t go for California or NewYork if you don\'t have any funding. Its just too expensive. More on jobs, majority of students get jobs on campus (in departments, dorms, etc). The pay can be anything from $6 to $12 per hour. During the term you can work for 20 hrs per week and during vacation, you can work for 40 hours. Bottom line, choose your University very carefully, especially if you are hard on personal funding. As to getting aid, the recent economic situation is not at all helping. Several Universities and the departments have lost their funding. So, not really rosy as it used to be!<BR><BR>I am assuming that you were referring to Masters in USA. However, if you intend to proceed to England, getting a part-time job is almost impossible. Its relatively more expensive. The only good thing is the Masters in England is of 1 year duration only. You can finish it and then try moving to USA.

Frankly speaking Sunil, I don\'t know. But on a positive note, I can say that most of my friends who lost their jobs were able to manage get new jobs within 3-4 months, here itself. A couple of them did return to Hyderabad and were able to get jobs there (but they are again trying to back here - that\'s a different story!). Now the trend here is, all the students who have finished their MS (especially in Engineering and related disciplines) are hopping onto a PhD program. The sole reason being to maintain their student status and therefore can stay here for longer. In the meantime, they are pursuing their job hunt. There are jobs (its not that bad, yet) but the employers are reluctant to process the H1. They are instead preferring some one with a GC or citizenship. I know several of my cousins and friends who get more than Rs 30,000 per month in Hyderabad. That\'s good enough to lead a comfortable life in Hyderabad. The only problem is, folks who happened to live in USA for a while (those who got used to getting the salary in dollars and found the life style here very easy) will find it a wee bit difficult adjusting back-home....
