Is a separate Telangana justified??

by Atul » Mon Jun 30, 2003 9:36 pm

I would like you all to explain clearly, why u think there should be/should not be a seperate telangana state. i also invite some statistics, like the amount of land in telanga being irrigated compared to that in andhra. i also want u to put some light on the demeaning way \'telangana\' language is being project in movies by andhra people. these are couple of things that came into my mind, but i believe there are many things that people from telagana are facing today. i appreciate if we discuss this issue with an open mind.

Not at all. Development is going on in telengana region only. Superb stadiums,Flyovers, Hitech city and everything if you see then why seperate telengana. Indians will be given Single Citizenship means in India you can live anywhere and you can work any where in India it is just a political stunt. Just forget the justification.

with all due respect, telangana doesn\'t begin and end in Hyderabad...The economically, socially and educationally disadvantaged farmer\'s son in Nalgonda (or mahabubnagar or warangal) can neither get into your hitech city nor cultivate his barren fields, thanks to 50 years of vishalandhra\'s political and social situation. While all this could be nothing but a politcal stunt, merely to say \"anybody can work anywhere\" is to sweep the issue under the rug. Mobility is not the privilege of the disdvantaged (and especially if the advantaged have pooled all the resources..)

Firstly Dr.Marrichennareddy of Congress Played a political drama telengana in which so many people lost their lifes and so many problems arised. Chennareddy was given C.M post and later he forgot about telengana. In the same Manner our favourite leader K.C.R. Telengana leader was removed from his Minister post from T.D.P and he was not given the minister post so that he created a seperate telengana party and he want to create a seperate telengana state and he want to be its C.M.

Mr mrk, hyderabad is not the only region in telangana, we have so many places under it. the developments that u have mentioned like hitech city, etc have only taken place in hyderabad. and obviously why wont they develop hyderabad, cause it is the capital of our state. Now, u may argue that a region from telangana has been made capital, but let me tell u the only reason why it was made capital was because of the availability of infrastructure. we had ready made high court, we had ready made assembly etc, they dint have to spend money and time for these things. this is the only reason why they made it a capital and not because they were concerned of telangana\'s development.

There are readymade things in Hyderabad, and so it became capital, in your view. Then, there are Nature\'s gifts and wonders in Visakhapatnam, like the ocean, the Araku valley and what not. It is a historical place. Then why was it not made a capital? In order to develop the Telangana region, all Andhra, Rayalaseema and Telengana people unitedly took a decision to make Hyderabad the State Capital. And all of them worked for the state. Today too, if you see in the Telangana region, our teachers are from the Andhra region. The CM himself is from Rayalaseema. In the TDP so many leaders are from Telangana. All of them are thinking about AP, not about the region. Forget about regions. So many persons from our India are going abroad. They are working in many countries. The foreigners are not thinking the way we are thinking. Then why are we fighting among ourselves for the sake of region? Will we take these regions when we leave this world? Why bloodshed and quarelling among ourselves?

MRK
Since the formation of Andhra Pradesh in 1956, successive governments have spent Rs 190 billion on irrigation in coastal Andhra. In the same period, less than Rs 35 billion has been spent on Telangana.
Nearly 79 per cent of the catchment area of the River Godavari and 69 per cent of that of the River Krishna are in Telangana. But the region barely gets 25 per cent of the river waters.\"
can that be a reason why telangana might be \"quarelling\" (in your words)??
Seperate Telangana might be a solution.. but what good is it if you say to some one who can\'t even afford bus fare to his district town \"Somany persons from our india are going to abroad. In many countries they working\"

Dear mrk, first thing i want to clarify is, i was talking about infrastructures like buildings etc and not about natural gifts and wonders. You cant run a govenment from an ocean or a \'natural wonder\'. Second thing when u said most of the teachers are from andhra and even our CM is from rayalseema, i also add to it that most of the government jobs are occupied by people from andhra. Then, what about people from telangana. can u name any field the way u named teaching and politics, that u see telanagana people ????? Another thing, I dont understand what gave u the idea of blood shed. Forming a seperate state need not be a bloody one, take the example of Jharkand and Uttaranchal. A seperate state is desired only for the development of telangana region and not to send people already residing in the region to their native places.

Your opinion is fine, but separate Telengana issue gives rise to separate Rayalaseema as well as separate andhra. Then our state will be divided into three pieces. If the same thing happens in the entire country in all states, what will be the future of India? Our India will become different pieces. Joining a broken stick is impossible. USSR was once a superb nation, it was in the second place when compared to USA. But when it was separated into pieces (Commonwealth nation) then its ranking has changed. Now, you just think about USSR. Are we hearing its name? No.

Very right. This separate Telangana thing is to get into power. There\'s no single good reason to have a separate state. These bloody politicians hinder the development of our state. They just can\'t understand the simple thing that if something like state division happens, we automatically go behind at least 20yrs in time in terms of development, stability etc. I hope you all got what I mean...
