Rank Of Engineering Colleges in AP State

[How?]

How does one choose from the list of engg colleges in AP considering that there are numerous? How do we get the rank of these? Does rank really matter? Does the univ matter? What r the imp factors that one should consider while deciding where to join? And how are our universities rated abroad? I heard some are blacklisted.

Dear How … RECs and Government Engineering colleges should be obvious primary choices. Private engineering colleges should be next. Your choice also depends on the specialization you want to go to. For example you may get Civil at JNTU but Mechanical at CBIT with the same rank. It is a trade-off. Also you have top have a strategic 7-year long-term view of what you want to do. Do you want to go the GRE ~ US ~ H1 ~ GC ~ NRI ~ US Citizen route OR GATE ~ MTech ~ Public Sector / Consultancy ~ Indian Professional route OR CAT ~ IIM ~ Mgmt Trainee ~ Manager ~ MD route. If you prefer the first one or the last then you may want to station yourself in a GRE/Cat type of competitive environment and you find this in Hyderabad (generally speaking). If you want to pursue the MTech route, then any place should be okay. As to whether University matters ... yes. I say this because of the number of private engg colleges that have popped-up of late. 10 years ago, this would have been a non-issue. From a US stand-point, obviously IITs are very well recognized. JNTUs, OUs, RECs et cetera are fairly recognized by US professors. As to private engineering colleges, other than those of the likes of CBIT, Vasavi, Mathrusri, Siddhartha and that one in Vizag I would be surprised if profs take a positive view of your credentials no matter what. Thanks a lot for your suggestions/guidance. i should pass this to my little bro, only aftr results come . The problem is, all new Engg colleges are JNTU affiliated. They dont have facilities and i dont know how it will be in the future. JNTU as i understand is good, but i am afraid to ask my siblings to choose it. whether he will make it to the top, i have to wait and see.

As far as telangana region is concerned (i hope ur from this region), i think these are the best recognized colleges

some good colleges other than these are also their, but i think these are best to choose bcos they are very well established colleges, i think they are probably 20 years old......u people can added even more colleges to this list if u find they are better to study.
