The decision is indeed shocking. But nothing much the courts could have done there. With the kind of witnesses that were there and the loophole filled laws, it can be called a collective failure of the judicial system, the police and the society itself.

Now that the case has been reopened, there is some hope for the victims family, but what will happen even if the accused get punished? Its more important to make changes in the law to plug the gaps that help these ba$&^^&$ get away.
People are crazy, at times are strange. I am locked-in tight, I am out of range.
I used to care, but things have changed.

yes Akhil,

u r right.this is the failure of our judiciary system. this will tells how the big wigs can escape from any criminal case. This is due to corruption. u know week after the accused were realesed from the case, judge had got promotion to High court.what a pity.where is the justice?

well..the case has been reopened and is now under public and media spotlite. a heartening offshoot is that now its very difficult for a similar thing to happen in the decade old BMW case that is still dragging in courts.
wtf? i no longer care if my posts hurt yr feelings
Love me or hate me, u cant ignore me :D

Jessica Lal in her death has opened the door of Indian consciousness, even if ever slowly.

The creaking sound of a door jammed for a long time is pleasant to hear. But let's see if that door will be slammed back into's hinges yet again.
