What is the value of the Arjuna Award today? The jury that selects the winners has but a small percentage of sportspersons. Most of them are politicians or babus.



I knew that public memory is short but have we forgotten the Milkha Singh case already? He deserved it decades before he actually was awarded it and the self-respecting sikh was brave enough to decline it.



I don't understand what Sania has to show to have deserved an award like the Arjuna. She hasn't really played in the nationals. She has just one WTA win..that too with a field full of challenger regs..She hasn't done too well for India in the fed cup. On what grounds was she awarded the arjuna?
