i have test driven an Indigo (diesel and petrol) and my unc bot an LS few months ago. my take on it:

excellent value for money and loads of space. the turbo charged engine is smooth. and there is no rattle or irritating body vibration. fuel economy is good.

if u have a couple of kids (or plan to), i suggest u put in some extra amount and go for Indigo Marina station wagon. at that price its a great bargain and excellent vehicle for long drives with family.
wtf? i no longer care if my posts hurt yr feelings

they are different classes of vehicles.

Indigo is a basic sedan like Esteem, Ikon and Accent - covering the 'C' Segment.

comparing the DIESEL cars in this segment:

Esteem: low cost, great fuel economy (thanx to light body), miserable performance, uncomfortable, cramped interiors. design is old and tacky, noisy.

Ikon: high cost of purchase, good looks, good performance, decent fuel economy, costly to maintain, cramped rear seat.

Accent: highest cost in this class (almost 8 lakhs on road), great engine (CRDi), good performance, good looks, comfortable, decent fuel economy.

Indigo: low cost, moderate performance, good fuel economy, cheap to maintain, very spacious and comfortable.
