Just wondering? Is her virginity more important than her commitment to the one she marries and to her family? Yes casual sex and one night stands is harmful and illogical,but a previous marriage,a bad love affair,a mistake...does this define her completely for the rest of her life? Definitely Not! In my opinion......virginity is not a big deal in either sex. Someone demanding a virgin partner has a limited/coloured view of himself/herself and life in general.Relationships are formed on meeting of minds and thoughts. None are actually formed on who was there before me??! That is insecurity,not love.

The thread was really long before I managed to spot it. Skimmed through most of it, but Sharjeel's posts caught my eye.



I did not think much differently when I was his age (that does not mean I am a fossil now, ladies... still single and ready to mingle...). With time, my views changed dramatically. Today I don't really expect to find a virgin wife. My be his views will change, too. Let the boy grow up, people.



On second thoughts, if your spouse to be is a virgin does that now make him/her a complete loser who is incapable of getting any action? Just a thought...

The virginity issue (more specifically of a girl's) has been made out to be a big one by society. Of course, there are many of us (especially in this gen) who care a damn about what society thinks but the fact remains that a lot of us are still old-fashioned (not intended to sound deragatory) when it comes to something as personal as sex.



Indian women? Depends...I'd say, it takes all kinds to make the world. A guy with a past is not struck off the list simply, but it definitely makes one wary. Commitment is not all about physical attraction. If its for life, its got to run deeper.

My current opinion is, there isnt much difference. A non-prostitue non-virgin is a result of unwisely decissions.

I hope I get a better understanding of both kinds of people and update my opinion on them.

I must disagree w/D above statement, u mean to say a girl's hymen can be broke without even havin sex at all? it may b caused by sports activity or too much dancing or whatever.,it is only in the outer body part Mr. CtrlAltDel. so even tho she broke her hymen, she is still consider virgin cuz no penetration done, no sex done, and so she is still pure.

thats right! sex education is important not only to tell youngsters abt AIDS and birth control, but also to clear misconceptions about sex. Kids (and adults too) gather all sorta wrong impressions on sex from ill informed friends, movies, porn etc. This could lead either to deviant behaviour or reduce sex drive due to groundless fears (like "OMG, my **** is just ** inches long...i cant satisfy any girl" etc etc)

Someone who chooses to sleep with another person might do so for a variety of reasons:

1. they may wish to have a child, either to raise with that person or on their own.

2. they may wish for the emotional closeness and intimacy that sleepin with someone brings

3. they may be in love with that person

4. they may wish to manipulate that person

5. they may be after money in some way



If you honestly can't see the difference between 1-3 and 4-5 then you are blinded by your upbringing.

Note that marrage may be either present or not present but all of the above hold true anyway. all marrage is is a contract, yes it provides family stability but many people don't want that in their lives.



in answer to your question, the difference between a non-married non-virgin and a prostitute is the motives. motives 1-3 have the interests of the other person at heart, or at least close to it. motives 4-5 are for more likely selfish and abusive.
