Ah no not exactly, Among the most famous reciters of the eulogies of the events of Karbala have been the Sikhs, Until around 20 years back each muharram groups of them would travel country wide reciting these eulogies. They were domiciled in Amritsar if I am not wrong.
Funnily they have since stopped maybe from the mid 80s

Oh thats because India eastwards the countries have not allowed Shias to settle. Again Malaysia stands next after Saudi that systematically terminates Shias. Heard about generations pershing in jails, with acts such as ripping out nails from and nailing hands and legs etc etc...don't know wether its myth or a fact but yes there are no sizeable Shias all the way after India.
