I mean you can get a fillet-o-fish burger, a large drink and fries/wedges for a hundred bucks whereas a similar combo with a footlong at Subway would cost atleast 200 bucks

abt cost...i think they are roughly equivalent to what they wud cost in US$, coz comparing to the cost in Aussie$, the conversion to rupee in Subway is ruffly the same.

They dont pay the same 5$ per hour to their employees, do they? All the ingredients cost less then 25% of what it would cost in US. It shouldnt cost more than 50 Rs, which is what other bakers charge. Anyway, I dont like McDonalds or subway sandwiches. Burger Kings burgers taste better than McD's, but McD's selling point is the fries. No one can make fries like they do.
